Editorial Standards
Threadline Media Group Editorial Code.
Threadline Media Group commits to:
1. Accuracy First
We check facts twice before publishing. If we are wrong, we correct it fast and clearly at the top of the story.
2. Independence
No political party, advertiser, or source tells us what to write. We disclose conflicts if they exist.
3. Fairness and Right to Reply
Anyone accused of wrongdoing gets a chance to respond before we publish. "No comment" will be stated.
4. Sources
We protect source identity if safety is at risk. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is vital and we have verified it two other ways.
5. Privacy and Dignity
We do not publish names of rape or GBV survivors, minors in trouble, or patients without consent. Public interest overrides privacy only in extreme cases.
6. Harm vs Public Interest
We weigh harm before publishing. If information will not help the public but will hurt someone, we do not publish.
7. Corrections
Mistakes happen. We fix them and tell readers what changed and why. Email: info@tmgnews.co.za
